Illustrator: Bjorn Lie
Illustrator: Bjorn Lie

Bjorn Lie grew up in a safe suburb outside Drammen in South East Norway. Most Norwegians refer to Drammen as a hole in the tarmac, but if you overlook the terrible architecture, the nature is quite beautiful. It's got a really nice river.

Anyway. He studied illustration at Falmouth College of Arts in the UK and returned to Oslo, Norway to work as an illustrator with varying degrees of success. He won several awards and scholarships, but never managed to fully make a living of his art. (his skills didn't quite pay the bills!)

He now lives and works in Bristol, UK. His most recent clients include Investors Chronicle, People Management and The Independent on Sunday and he is currently illustrating a series of maths books for a Norwegian publisher.

He has written and illustrated a children's book, Welhavens Vase (which is a story about a trucker, a millionaire and a contortionist!), and he has done several designs for his friends/ heroes at Yee Haw Industries in Knoxville, Tennessee.
