wood/wooden things : spelling mistakes : Toronto subway "doors are closing" chime (especially when two opposing trains produce a dissonant echoing racket - visit www.toronto.ca/ttc/) : things that slowly, almost imperceptibly change : rectangles interacting with triangles (rudimentary axes) : two slightly detuned saw waves, swept, culminating in a crackling self oscillating resonance

Although he is now successfully living and working as an artist and illustrator in the tomorrow world of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Gordon Wiebe's beginnings were sliced from a much more humble pie.
Gordon was born at the age of zero to a mother and father at a time of great turmoil for western democracy. It was a time of many troubling questions and few reassuring answers, a time of lost innocence, it was at exactly the time of two days after the birth of beloved Alaskan singer/songwriter "Jewel" and one day before a teen was tragically trampled to death at a London David Cassidy concert.
He proudly, and inappropriately loudly called the quiet, picturesque village of Niagara-On-The-Lake his first home. Yet, despite a deep love for the local creeks and all the adventures he would have in and near them, the small towns largely ice-cream based economy failed to hold young Gordon's attention for long.
