Andy Smith studied illustration at the Royal College of Art, London. His work embraces modern technology and combines it with a knowledge of print techniques and drawing resulting in digital work that has its roots in silkscreen printing. His bold art prints incorporate hand drawn typography, photography, brushwork, spraypainted textures, and lots of drawing and have led him to contribute to many defining editorial and advertising commissions. Andys work is about characters, humour and events. Immediate visuals are combined with strong typography and copywriting skills. He has translated his work and stories into short films and books, and he has animated and directed a commercial for Nike. When not working on commercial assignments he spends time silkscreening posters and self published books which are available from his website. He lives in east London in the UK.
