Influences/Inspiration
People who get things done and don't ask too many questions, young people with amazing talent, old people with newfound amazing talent, working in the middle of the night, getting out of the house and going for a drive, taking breaks from computers, sitting in bookstores and libraries, and doing personal artwork.
Best Things In Life
Holly - my fiancee, my family, all my friends, the blessings I encounter in every day life, being able to work as late as I want and when I want, Curb Your Enthusiasm, cereal, my new Volvo S40 T5 AWD, traveling, and meeting inspiring people.
Music
Lately it's been a mix of Jose Gonzalez, John Mayer, Tortoise, Isis, Zero 7, Converge, mewithoutYou, Minus The Bear, John Legend, Jay-Z, and Fiona Apple. Sometimes I mix some jazz in there...Thelonious Monk, Miles, or Coltrane.

Welcome to Episode 41.
In the conclusion with Chuck Anderson on ICONIC his audience gets into the act of asking some questions on this episode of ICONIC.... Thanks again kids for all of the questions! ICONIC is now on! Enjoy!
This episode contains:
Audience Questions:
1. Here is the first question from Anthony,
-Where do you see your work taking you in terms of dream projects or re-visiting a previous work/project to create from another perspective? In general with such a diverse portfolio, is there any real 'dream' project and/or association that you have not already considered or undertaken?
2. Dominik-
What is the best moment of the day?
3. Nathan
-How would you change your career if electricity disappeared tomorrow
(not likely) so that you could be just as successful as you've been
with the computer? So forget about how you would survive and eat and
see and all that, just wondering what the career switch would be.
4. Drew -
"What drives you to succeed?" -
5. Nem
-How do you feel about the trend that's evolving in design? I'm talking mainly about the trend that's been primarily inspired/ influenced from your works. You've personally given me advice in the past on not using "glows" and such because its no longer original.
So... my question is.. do you feel mostly Honored or angry that you've been able to start up a trend that's almost everywhere these days? Do you think design is just running in circles (everything looking the same)... or do you think there's new land to be conquered?
6. Nick
-I know as a creative person its hard to stop thinking of what’s next but sometimes when you can't watch TV once a week without feeling anxious it becomes a little ridiculous. Even though you are working for yourself are there rules or work times that you setup or do you pretty much get things done whenever you can?
7. Jacoby
-Do you find that making art for companies hinders your creative process? Being an artist myself, I have always feared the compromises that go along with it? Have you ever backed out of working w/ someone because of it?
8. Shawn-
What made you decide on digital as your medium as apposed to other artistic mediums?
9. Sam
-How do you go about setting up your business and getting clients when you first start?
10. Diane
-I personally would like to know the kind of steps you take when you create something in photo shop. I really like the cover of Lupe Fiasco, and I've seen it after ordering your book and its really cool. As a graphic design student I'm inspired by many artists work and yours being one of them. I really like the way you fuse pictures and effects in photo shop. I have to ask, what do you use to mask out pictures? Also, what do you do to make the images glow, using the Lupe Fiasco cover as an example? Thanks, I think you do great work and it would be awesome to hear you talk about some of your techniques.
11. Ryan
-1. Despite photo shop effects and glowly things being around pre- NoPattern (ha) how do you feel about sort of being looked at as the guy that really got people doing (biting) it recently?
-2. Your site/work is very centered on the artist and doing just that; creating art. why do you think this has worked so well for you whereas a lot of other designers and firms have to turn themselves into a 'one stop shop' to attract clients?
12. Ben
-I like to know how much time, in general, you spend on your digital illustrations - like for example the 'summer slays' or 'vacations' posters. the background washes that you are using in 'summer slays' - are those watercolor washes that you have created?
and are you creating all your elements your self/from scratch, or are you finding some materials/elements from various places and incorporating them into your work as well?
Thank you...
Thanks again for listening to ICONIC, have a great Thanksgiving everyone.
Next time on ICONIC will be John Martz from Drawn.
Thanks again Chuck!
