Luc Melanson was born in Montreal in 1968.
After a Bachelors degree in graphic design, he realized that he didn't really want to be a designer. He decided to dedicate himself exclusively to illustrating. That didn't turn out too badly. His work has won a few prizes and received recognition. It has been selected for prestigious competitions like Communication Arts, Society of Illustrators and American Illustration. For the past 15 years, he has sold his work to agencies and magazines. Once in a while he illustrates children's books.
All day long he draws relentlessly for his clients; in the evening, he does the same for his two young sons, especially baseball and hockey players which are on permanent exhibit on the refrigerator in the kitchen.
His biggest dream is to play drums like the great Ed Thigpen, but since hes a lousy drummer, he hopes to continue illustrating for many, many years.
