Miguel Gallardo studied at Barcelona’s Massana School of Arts and Crafts. He started his professional career combining comics and illustration, finally dedicating himself fully to the latter. As a press illustrator, he is a regular contributor to La Vanguardia and various other magazines and publications both in Spain and abroad, including The Herald Tribune and the NYT. He designs book-covers for Spain’s major publishing houses. Together with writer Victoria Bermejo, he has created a dozen children’s books for RBA, La Galera and Ed. 62. He is co-author, along with Angels Ponce, of ¿Qué le pasa a este niño, a guide to handicapped children. He has collected two prizes at Barcelona’s Salón del Cómic, two SND (Society of Newspaper Design) awards, the Serra D’Or prize for ¿Qué le pasa a este niño?, and an APIC press award for his illustrations in La Vanguardia.Clients:La Vanguardia,Herald Tribune,NYT,Colorado Avid Golfer,New Yorker,El Pais,Random House,Chronicle Books.
