Marc was born at the dawn of time in New York city. He was promptly moved to Turkey where he spent his first 2 years in Ankara. He did most of his growing up in Los Angeles where he stayed through high school (Hollywood High).
He attended Princeton University, majoring in architecture and left-wing politics. After graduating , he became a painter, eventually earning an MFA in a vain attempt to secure a teaching position. In 1978, he moved to New York and got a job with Milton Glaser, doing design and odd illustration jobs.
Whew. Most of his work is editorial illustration for many national, international, regional magazines, and birthday cards for friends. Clients include The New Yorker, Time, Fortune, Rolling Stone, NY Times, Wall St Journal, and many totally unknown publications.
Lately, the most exciting projects have been children's books, which he has illustrated for some time, but recently also started writing. The latest was published by Harper Collins last July. It is called Phooey!
