Walking around NYC, children's book illustration from the 1960s, French ephemera like old boulangerie receipts, artists like Dufy and Bemelmans, long walks on gray days, Paris.
Best Things In Life
Sipping a nice glass of cabernet at a sidewalk cafe, traveling, collecting sea glass at the beach, reading a great book in bed and being in the company of old friends laughing and gossiping.
Music
Classic Rock: 2 favorites: Cinnamon Girl by Neil Young, Limelight by Rush
Bossa Nova: Astrud Gilberto, Stan Getz
The Amelie Soundtrack
Classical: Debussy's Reverie and Prélude à l'Après-midi d'un faune
Just about ALL 80s music! So fun!

Kristine knew she wanted to be an artist the moment she picked up her first crayon–sometime around 1973. In grade school, her artistic flair shined in projects such as her popsicle-stick puppet rendition of Cinderella replete with diorama shoebox stage, her meticulously illustrated herbarium for science class and an epic tempera re-creation of Vermeer's "Art of Painting".
She began her career in advertising as an art director toiling on ads and promotional materials till the wee hours of the morning. She left her job in 2003 to pursue illustration and has enjoyed the creative variety and freedom that freelance brings. The steady paycheck may be gone, but there is something to be said for seeing daylight and not having to eat all three meals in a cubicle. Now she works at home, with plenty of sunlight under the watchful eye of her Tortie cat "Miss. Freckles".
