Joey was born in 1983 in Taipei, Taiwan. He spent most of his childhood obsessed to be one of the X-men and dreaming about having a force field device. When he was 15, he moved to Los Angeles where he found out about mega shopping malls and the Target stores. Since then he enjoys anything with bright happy colors.
After Joey graduated from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, he worked in animation, video game, and children's books industries working for major corporation including American Greeting, Disney, Laika, Nickelodeon, Verizon Wireless, Sunrise House Publishing, Knock knock Publishing, among others.
He also self-published a dark humor picture book, "Crazy by the Letters", an alphabet book of mental disorders from A to Z.
