A September flower child, born and raised in the turbulent apartheid era of the 60's, in Johannesburg South Africa. Carolyn studied painting under the esteemed artist Nina Campbell Quine from an early age. After school, she completed a 3 year Graphic Design Diploma before traveling to Europe, Israel and Turkey. Carolyn lived in London for a year, before finally making the giant leap across the pond to Toronto, Canada. After more than 20 years freelancing and then designing for her company Ecojot, (a 100% recycled stationery company formed 3 years ago) Carolyn signed with agent Lilla Rogers. This has given Carolyn's work a whole new perspective. Now her fresh, vibrant and exotic designs can be found on all sorts of products, including the Wild Thyme fabric collection. Carolyn is influenced by embroidery from Central America, color and pattern from India and warmth from Africa. Carolyn's work with Ecojot can be seen at Barnes and Noble, Anthropologie, The Container Store, Borders, Paperchase, Indigo (Canada) and Paper Source. Ecojot is also available internationally in France, Finland, Iceland, South Africa, Brazil, Chile, Australia, New Zealand and the UK. Traveling remains a passion, but is on hold while life, love, careers and the pursuit of happiness prevail.
