Matt MWM was born in 1980 in Boston, Massachusetts. He studied at RISD and SCAD before completing his formal education at Maine College of Art with a degree in Graphic Design. Although his academic focus was design, during college Matt spent a great deal of personal time and energy on "fine art" and hand drawn illustrations. Vector by day, acrylic, enamel and aerosol by night. As a painter, he shows regularly in galleries and boutiques across the US, and in 2005 he founded Knuckle Sandwich Press, a publishing company showcasing his personal illustration work.
In the same spirit of his college career, Matt continues to live an exciting split life of art, design and graffiti. He is a designer at a great firm by day and moonlights as a gallery artist and freelance illustrator/designer. This vast range of responsibilities has significantly influenced and enhanced his approach and execution of jobs.
Matt looks forward to future personal growth, a bigger painting studio, exciting design challenges, and new acquaintances with a passion for this culture and a drive to produce innovative work.
