American Illustration Buenos Aires

American Illustration 25 has come to Buenos Aires, Argentina thanks to Fernanda Cohen, Romina Pinto and Mark Heflin.

I attended the lecture, Thursday Oct 4th, and was really impressed and inspired. Mark Heflin, the director of AI, gave an excellent presentation on history of illustration, how it has metamorphosed into what it is today and showed illustrations from the last 25 years that are part of the AI 25 year anniversary book. He talked about people, technology and events that have made significant impacts on the industry. After the lecture there was a short Q and A and exhibition. (see photos below)

If you are in Buenos Aires make sure you check it out:
Friday 5th, 7PM at Jean Jaures 932
Monday 8th, 7PM at Mario Bravo 1050

I´ve been there, On Friday and Monday ( I missed one) and really enjoyed it. Being able to see the original works and the production as well was fantastic. Too bad the illustrators know ourselves mostly from our works but not very much our faces. You know, at least to say hi.
