Spotlight:Steve Scott

Steve Scott was born in Plymouth, England before moving to Australia at the age of 16. He studied Fine Arts in Sydney at the New South Wales University before stints at Disney, Animal Logic, art directing magazines and T-Shirt design. At the same time he became involved in the early 90s Australian comic scene and then later a member of Sydney electronic music collective, Clan Analogue. As one third of electronic outfit, The Telemetry Orchestra he released three records. In the late 90s he quit full time work to concentrate on Illustration and Animation ….

3×3 Call for Entries No. 5 - First Call

It’s time to get your entries ready for our fifth annual international illustration competition. And this year you can enter and pay online. No more multiple forms to fill out, no more multiple formats to submit, no more burning discs. We’ve made the entry process easier, but the judging will be just as tough as always.

Student Show
Deadline: February 14, 2008
All work done by undergraduate and graduate students during the calendar year 2007 is eligible.
Our judges include illustrator/educator Guy Billout, Russell Cobb (United Kingdom), Sara Fanelli (United Kingdom), Martin Haake (Germany), Robert Meganck, Henning Wagenbreth (Germany) and international artist representative Sally Heflin. Entries must be uploaded or mailed no later than February 14, 2008.
Entries are being accepted now.

Professional Show
Deadline: March 14, 2008
We’ve added three new categories this year: self-promotion, sequential and 3-D in addition to our children’s book, animation, advertising, editorial, book, institutional, for sale and unpublished categories.
This year’s judges include art director/author/editor Steven Heller, art director Markus Rasp (Germany), designer Matteo Bologna, design director Tyler Darden, executive art director Isabel Warren Lynch (Randomhouse), art director Sarah Hollander, art director Denise Cronin (Viking Children’s Books), illustrator/designer Tavis Coburn (Canada) and illustrators Beppe Giacobbe (Italy), Vanessa Dell (United Kingdom), Hanoch Piven (Spain), Eddie Guy, Vivienne Flesher and Robert Neubecker. Entries must be uploaded or mailed no later than March 14, 2008.
Entries will be accepted as of January 17, 2008.
